Our Staff

We are an equal opportunities employer. Prior to any member of staff working at Little Acorns Day Nursery, we thoroughly check their references, and also carry out our own Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

We will ensure that at least 90% of the staff working at Little Acorns Day Nursery are qualified in childcare. Any unqualified staff working at Little Acorns Day Nursery will be offered vocational training following a successful trial period. The staff will be formally introduced to each parent / carer, and their photographs will be displayed on the staff information board.

Staff Ratios 
For children under the age of 2, the ratio is one member of staff to 3 children. For children aged between 2 and 3 years, the ratio is one member of staff to every 4 children. For children aged 3 and over, the ratio is 1 member of staff to every 8 children or 1 to 13 with QTS (Qualified Teachers Status). We will ensure that ratios are adhered to at all times, by employing staff that will rotate the nursery to assist with nappy changing and to cover lunch breaks. There will be a minimum of 2 members of staff in each room at any one time. We do not leave staff unattended at any time.
